Ringette, like hockey, is played on ice with skates and sticks with five players and a goalie per team on the ice at once.  The objective is to score goals by shooting the object of play into the opposing team's net during stop-time periods of play.  But this is where the comparisons between ringette and hockey end.  The stick is straight.  The object being pursued by the players is a rubber ring, not a puck.  There is no intentional body contact and the rules of ringette make it a wide-open and dynamic sport.  The emphasis is on teamwork, play-making, skating speed and agility.

Ringette is becoming very popular across Canada, boasting over 30,500 registered players (with nearly 500 here in Saskatoon and area) on nearly 2,000 teams, with over 8,000 coaches and over 1,500 officials.  While it is primarily a female sport, there are currently over 700 males playing ringette across the country.

The success of our local organization is currently dependent upon our membership, however with increased ice costs every year we would like to keep registration fees affordable by seeking financial support from corporations and private sponsors.  As a sponsor, you will receive recognition in the community in several different ways.  We have a detailed sponsorship page for you to review.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of Saskatoon Ringette, please don't hesitate to contact Brenda King at the Saskatoon Ringette Office at office@saskatoonringette.com or (306) 975-0839.
